Meet the New SalesRabbit CTO – Michael Archibald
As we look forward to a period of growth, we’re excited to announce our new CTO hire, Michael “Archie” Archibald. We’re hyped about everything he brings to the table and wanted everyone to get a chance to know a little more about the latest addition to the SalesRabbit family.
Tell us a little about yourself, Archie.
I grew up in Idaho Falls, ID. I spent a lot of my childhood in the woods and rivers of eastern Idaho. I grew up with a love for fishing and camping. I got my undergrad in Economics with an emphasis in money and banking systems. This clearly influenced me later in my career as I found myself gravitating towards companies in the Fintech space. I spent 7 years in Fintech before joining Salesrabbit.
What about your professional background?
I started writing websites back in the 90s as a teen. I’ve always loved technology. After graduating from college, I gravitated towards the technology at companies and eventually transitioned full-time to software development. I’ve spent most of my career in Fintech. I worked on a payment gateway and merchant services platform at iTransact and then later on consumer and business credit to drive funding at Nav. I have over 12 years of professional programming experience including Ruby, PHP, Golang and JavaScript. I transitioned to management in the past few years.
What made you want to be here at SalesRabbit?
Brady, the CEO. I felt like he was an earnest leader who wanted what was best for people.
Who are some of your idols/heroes/mentors?
My former boss at Nav, Scott Schlegel. He started at Yahoo and was employee #17 at LinkedIn. He’s spent a lot of time in the startup scene and taught me what it takes to make a startup successful and how you have to scale as your team scales.
What do you like to do in your free time?
I like to camp and read. I’m a voracious reader.
What are you excited to accomplish here?
I’m excited to help the engineers here grow and become a high functioning exemplar in the local tech scene.
What’s your management philosophy?
Management is about growing people into the skills you need to make the company successful and lining people up with those skills so they grow in ways that benefit them in their careers.
Top 3 favorite movies?
The Big Lebowski
Pacific Rim
Grave of the Fireflies
Any last thoughts you’d like to share?
